Bypass In-App Purchase

This article refers to a hacker who has made it possible to bypass Apple's In-App purchase providing users with free content.  People like free things and free things are hard to come by.  Beware of things that seem to good to be true.  Though it may work, you have to think.  What does the hacker gain from giving away something free?  And can you trust a hacker?

Tim Cook, Media Conference...Hmmm

Tim Cook is attending a media conference and he has some meetings scheduled for this week.  It looks like he wants to make some media moves, perhaps beginning talks or finalizing talks.  This could be in support of the rumored Apple TV set.  What do you think?  Could it be for another device or devices?

Macs Supported by Mountain Lion

The article below discusses what Macs will be supported by Mountain Lion.  In my case, my Macbook will be, but my Mac Mini will not.  My Mac Mini is a 2007 model and still going strong.  But now, I need to decide if I will finally upgrade my Mini.  Recently, I was thinking I would just install a SSD to boost my speed.  I'm not sure what I will do.  The job my Mac Mini does could still be done running Lion.  Anyone else in a similar situation will have to decide if its worth buying a new Mac for the benefits of Mountain Lion.  Take a look at the article to find out if you will be impacted.

Could This Be the iPhone 5?

9 to 5 Mac's article is below.  GottaBeMobile claims to have "iPhone 5 engineering samples".   I'm not sure if this is legit and I wonder how companies get their hands on stuff like this if it is true.

Let's Talk About...Plex

There are a few things in life that I really like and support.  Of course, Apple is one.  Another is Plex!  I've enjoyed and watched the growth of Plex since it was OSXBMC.  It was one of the reasons that I purchased my first Mac, a Mac Mini...about the size of 4 CD cases stacked on top of each other.  Guess what?  I still have that Mac Mini and it is still going strong...and it still has Plex on it.  Okay, just a little about Plex...back when FrontRow was common on Macs, users (including myself) wanted a better media center experience.  Plex was created...ok, at first it was OSXBMC...there were some creative differences...partners went separate ways...Plex was created.  Plex provided a great media center experience then and continues to grow.  I can't cover all the features; there are just too many.  For now, I would say check out the website below and see if this is something you would like.  Later, I will highlight some of the features.

Here is the link to Plex...you can download the server and client software for your computer(s) here.  You can also join MyPlex.  There are a bunch of tutorials on this website to get you started and take you places you may not have imagined.  Just look under Help.

The future is a throwback?  This article looks at a new start-up.  It's an interesting concept to turn your IOS device into a game console.  I'm sure some people will enjoy the throwback design similar to the first Nintendo.  What do you think?  If you like the concept, you have the chance to help the company with their dream.

Russian Spam App Removed from App Store

This article examines an area that most people are concerned or should be concerned about.  We expect companies to protect our data as we increasingly rely on electronic devices.  This wasn't only an Apple issue but I think we should still be aware.  Most people have probably never heard of this app.  Prevention is preferred but a quick response is a decent backup solution.

Apple Vs Samsung with Patents

The article below discusses the latest information on the patent battle between Apple and Samsung.  From what I have read in the past, Steve Jobs was serious about protecting Apple's creativity and not just allowing other companies to copy them.  Are the patent battles good for Apple or possibly a distraction?  I don't know the answer to that question.  Only time will tell.
